Operator’s DLT Scrubbing Charges Applicable from Aug 1st 2020
TRAI has been working on curbing the problem of Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) or spam calls and messages, by prescribing a new set of guidelines and Regulatory framework by way of “The Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulation (TCCCPR 2018) dated 19th July 2018. Distributed ledger technology outlined in TCCCPR 2018, is an enhanced eco-system to better enable safe and secure messaging, while also providing an opportunity for the brands and enterprises to connect with their customers in a more meaningful and relevant way.
We thank you for your time and effort in registering your Entity and Message Headers on various operator DLT Platforms that have been live since June 1st 2020. All Telecom operators are now commercially going live from August 1 2020 and have released formal communications that all Domestic A2P SMS traffic will be subject to an additional DLT scrubbing charge of INR 0.025 per SMS submitted to the operator DLT platform from 1st August 2020. This additional per SMS charge will be applicable to all our Postpaid and Prepaid Customers from 1st August 2020. (For all Postpaid Customers, the invoice that will be raised in September 2020, for August 2020 usage, will carry the additional charge of INR 0.025 per SMS, for all SMS submitted to the DLT platform. For all Prepaid Customers, the available credits or balance in your account will be re-calculated on 1st August 2020 based on an additional SMS charge of INR 0.025 per SMS, for all SMS submitted to the DLT platform).
Save your Costs by following the simple tips.
- Remove all junk numbers from your data/phone book.
- If you are using API, filter out major invalid numbers such as 919999999999.
- Verify the Mobile Series, if the series is does not start with 6, 7, 8, 9 then do not send messages to such phone numbers.
- Download your DLR and list down all failed numbers and remove invalid and permanent error code phone numbers from your data or phone book.
