Content Template and DLT Template ID Registration Date Extended
Dear Customers,
As you are aware, TRAI had notified a complete new framework to manage commercial communications and is aimed at curbing the problem of Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) or spam calls and messages vide its Regulation “The Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulation (TCCCPR 2018)” dated 19th July 2018.
As a follow up to our earlier email highlighting the DLT Template Updates, Please note GO LIVE date for the regulatory process of scrubbing the Entity ID, Sender IDs and Template ID with all the operators has been extended to 31st January, 2021. Now PE’s/TMs are required to upload all their content templates to any operator DLT portal by the said date.
Pursuant thereto, all the senders of commercial communication are required to follow a mandatory registration process. Accordingly, your entity has been registered on any of the DLT platform as a Sender/Telemarketer of commercial communications.
Therefore, all Senders must ensure that all the below mentioned mandatory activities have also been completed by you as per the registration process under TCCCPR 2018:
* Headers for all categories of commercial communication viz; promotional, transactional, service etc. (Mandatory)
* Content Templates for each of the registered headers (Mandatory)
* Consent Templates for consent acquisition and validation process
* Uploading all the consents of your customers
All the above must be completed on the DLT system on or before 31st January 2021. Further, all the PEs and Telemarketers should complete the testing and get their systems ready for the content template and/or consent scrubbing by 31st January 2021. For any inaction by Senders /TMs or because of non-readiness at their end, SMSGatewayCenter shall not be liable for any impact on the services.
